Pet photo submission guidelines
Your photo is carefully traced by our artists to capture every detail, so submit the pose and expression that truly captures your pet.
✔ Take a close-up shot so we can capture all the unique details.
✔ Get down low, crouching to their eye level creates the best portrait.
✔ Make sure your pet is sitting or standing not lying down or running.
✔ Use natural daylight for a clear and detailed photo.
Photography Tips
Get Their Attention
Use a squeaky toy or hold a treat just above your camera to get your pet looking directly at you with alert, focused eyes.
Use Natural Light
Photograph your pet indoors during daylight hours. Have them face a window with you standing between them and the window, this will illuminate their face evenly and avoid dark shadows.
Shoot at Eye Level
Get down to your pet’s eye level for the most natural and engaging perspective. Avoid top-down or extreme angles.
Keep It Clear and Simple
Remove collars, leads, harnesses, or accessories you don’t want included. Since our artists trace over the image, any visible items will show in the final artwork.
Focus on the Face & Shoulders
Aim for a crisp, well-lit view of your pet’s face and upper body. Avoid blurry, angled, or sleeping photos.
